As the temperatures in Philadelphia rise and as more and more families are finding it more and more difficult to plan the ultimate vacation more Philadelphians are planning staycations, instead of vacations. So how does one plan the perfect staycation? Well, the depends on what you like. For the camper, building your own backyard campsite would be fun. Grab a tent or two, some gravel for the fire pit, cornhole, and some marshmallows and fall asleep under the stars. (Make sure you check the fire law for whichever town you live in,) For the perfect snack grab some marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate and create the most delicious s'more. For those of us with children or those who are children at heart, making a water park in the backyard is always a good idea. Grab your backyard hose, a beach ball, and a sprinkler and adults and the little ones will be entertained for hours. For the more adventurous, or those who simple want a bit more action, grab a backyard water slide. Most large retailers carry them and provide a number of choices from the traditional to the more extreme. For those who simply want a romantic night under the stars with their favorite movie there is a staycation for you too! Grab some soft blankets, your cooler, projector, favorite movie and of course popcorn and enjoy a night with the stars under the stars. There really is something for everyone and with a staycation you avoid the seemingly endless lines. So instead of buying tickets to a water park, make your own; instead of paying those crazy movie ticket prices, make your own theater; and instead of having to deal with other campers, make your own campsite- and do it all in your own backyard!
